Are You Ready for the 10th Annual Cherokee County 5K?

With the 2023-2024 school year coming right around the corner, that also means that another Chick-Fil-A Cherokee County 5K is upon us! This year's race will be the 10th annual 5K, happening on August 12th, 2023!

Over the years, the Cherokee County 5K, formerly known as the Chick-fil-A Moo've It 5K, has donated well over $200,000 to the Cherokee County Education Foundation and the Cherokee County Special Olympics, making CCEF programs like the Impact Grants and Rapid Grants a possibility for our wonderful teachers and staff to impact students all over Cherokee County!

What to Know Before Race Day

If this is your first year participating, or if you haven't been a part of a fundraiser run in a while, that's no problem – we can give you a couple of tips and things to know before you show up for race day!

1. Dress The Part – Show up to race day wearing comfortable walking or running shoes, and be sure to wear light and breathable clothing suited for exercise!

2. Get A Good Night's Sleep – Getting plenty of sleep the night before will help you not only show up to do your best, but it will allow you to make it there early to check-in, put on your bib, and stretch before race time.

3. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate! – We all know how brutal that Georgia summer sun can be, which is one of the reasons we like starting early in the day to help beat some of that heat, but we can only do so much to plan around the sun.

That's why drinking plenty of water the day before and during the 5K will not only help your body keep cool, but it can actually keep your muscles hydrated, helping you avoid cramping and soreness.

4. The More the Merrier – Whether your friends and family are going to cheer you on at the finish line, or if you want to participate as a group, supporting your community is always more fun with a loved one, so gather your friends and family and come on out together!

What to Register For?

Every year, the Chick-Fil-A Moo've It 5K offers three levels of participation for anyone who wants to be a part of the fun! Plus, since this is the largest 5K in North Georgia, this year's race will be considered an Official Peachtree Road Race Qualifying Event.
